Scott Barrels

Postby GarthNZ » 26 May 2013, 22:46

I am trying to fix a 58 brum Scott, the head gasket leaked water into the bore and has rusted the bore, Can we bore these barrels, putting a liner in is probably not an option, where can I get pistons, what cost, and a new head gasket.
Any help please. This is my late Father in laws bike and mum want to sell it to cover some bills, we are in NZ .

Hi, You need to be a Club member to access the Spares Scheme. Barrels can be rebored up to a maximum of about +.060", which is limited by piston supply. New 596cc pistons are at last available again, and in a modern low-expansion alloy. Occasionally old stock original pistons appear at autojumbles. Gaskets are available from the Spares Scheme and from a small number of Scott specialists. Good luck with your mission !

Hi, Just go to the Scott Owners' Club Limited Homepage, and you will see a picture of an early Scott advert. Directly under the picture is a link for joining the Club. Click on that, and away you go! Cheers.
