MDA2 mag/dyno

Postby Kevin N Bayliss » 30 Sep 2017, 23:28

Has anyone got a mag armature for the MDA2 mag/dyno, dead or alive, ( I need two ). Also looking for the end cover which holds the cam ring if anyone has one on their shelve not being used. Last but not least the drive gear which goes onto the mag armature to drive the dynamo. Many Thanks Kev

This is the end cover plate that I'm looking for, the armature on eBay has a damaged end for the points so would need replacing but thanks Barry for looking, Kev

Is your existing casting worn out or missing? As for the armature and the gear I take it your trying to build a mag from bits.

Got it in one, it’s missing and building up one from just a case. Picking up a lathe tomorrow so I’ll prob just make one as Ive got one to copy from. No point asking for Kite forks for a TT Rep as if anyone sells some they will be out of my budget, so they will be made as well along with wheel hubs etc, a busy winter I think. Kev

Been there on a Silk and a Scott ( Pazon and Boyer ) both caused more problems than it was worth, replaced both with mags and all fine. So thanks for the idea but not again. Besides this mag dyno will be a spare for the Scottish section in case someone requires it for short term use while there's is getting repaired. Kev
