Can anybody out there tell me how the saddle on the 1947 Flyer is supposed to be mounted to the frame? I have recently realised that the saddle mounting on my machine cannot be original. On the frame the top of the triangulated portion has a raised square piece which is I assume where the original mounting was in order to stop the saddle from being able to swivel and steer! Can any member please send me a drawing or sketch of what the fitting should look like? Or perhaps someone has a spare saddle frame or complete saddle that I could buy from them.
On my machine the square bit has been drilled and tapped and two small bolts are used to hold the rear end of what appears to be a piece of spring steel which allows the saddle to pivot at the front but also allows the saddle to deflect from side to side!
