Hello Roger – do you still need help with the front mudguard and brake compensator? I went to see the progress on the rebuild of my 1947 flyer today and looked at the way in which the compensator was mounted. Two things were immediately clear : 1 I was wrong when I said that it was mounted to the forks;and, 2 the compensator was mounted to the front mudguard by a bracket which curves to fit the profile of the front mudguard.
Not only that but I also realised that amongst the pile of rubbish I have in the garage was a bracket of the sort used – I had not known of its use before and had nearly rejected it as a home-made peice of tat !
It’s yours if you need it – and I have some spares for the compensator as well if it helps.
