As you can tell I am deep into restoration of these forks. In spite of trawling many miles of old yowls and ‘technicalities’ I can find little information on refurbishing these Kite forks. In particular my previous workshop experience tells me that the fork legs should not be such a sloppy fit in the captive ball ended sleeves they slide in. and also that a modern oil/grease seal or o ring should also be introduced. I am busy thinking of introducing nylon or brass tubing into the 50 odd thou of clearance available, however I am a great believer in only blazing trails when necessary and I am sure that others have been here beore , unfortunately they seem to have covered their tracks up too well. 🙁
