Chain lubrication oil tank cap - type and shape

Hi, I’m just making replica of the chain lubrication oil tank. My friend has one on his FS, unfortunately without the cap. What shape did they use on this tanks? Was there some engraving? I would be happy to see the photo to make one (or even better, in case someone has one extra?

Seems like I’m not able to upload the photo, at least I don’t see it here. Not sure if it’s due to my old computer… anyway, it’s the cylinder shape oil tank placed under the seat. Cap is screw type. Hope it helps to recognize the type. If you have some pictures, you can send it to my email: martin.dasek@gmail.com

Hi. Martin,
I can’t see your photograph, perhaps you can reload it.
I have a number of brass screwed caps of different sizes all plain if you are interested.

Let me know what diameter you are looking for and I’ll advise if I have a suitable size.

The late John Rose made some of these oil dripper tanks. He could only locate round chrome screw
top closures and found it difficult to get drip taps. This was c2013

There were two entirely different chain oiler tanks, and the first was an angular odd shape, as fitted to 1928 TT machines and the first TT Replica machines, up to early 1929, when a simple cylindrical shape was introduced. Which sort do you need ?

Hi,
I actually don’t want to use it for the chain lubrication, my plan is to use it for oil to mix with petrol on the petrol stations. So I don’t need the drippers.
The tank I have here is the later cylindrical shape. How did look the old types? I quess it’s fitting to long wheel base frames only.
I measured the screw, it’s 48 mm (slightly over 1 7/8 inches). I would be very happy to have original cap. In case you have 2 pieces, I would buy for my friends tank as well

sorry, did!t finished previous post and post it by coincidence. Here are some photos of my friends tank. Also in case someone has some extra oil taps that don’t need, I would be happy to buy them.
