I helped out Gary Schultz, a Scott owner in California by finding a correct MC2 magneto for him. I had it rebuilt by Sean Hawker who did a superb job on it so it is just like new!
It was from a Douglas and I had had it on my shelf for years. Now I realize that the much later Lucas Magdyno he has on the bike has the larger taper fixing. The MC2 has a smaller taper and from memory is retained by a central 1/4″ BSF bolt. Can anyone help and sell a mag sprocket with a small center taper to save making one specially. I promise I will not add anything to the price, only I would cover carriage. If you prefer to deal and send directly, just contact me and I will give all contact details. His bike is a credit to us and we only need this item to get it correct. Kindest Regards to all Roger
Ken Lack used to stock mag sprockets with the small taper. I do not know if he still does.
Mike Field made one for me at a very reasonable price a few years ago, and I think he can still produce them.

Roger and fellow Scott Owners,
I can’t thank you enough for your generous support. I wouldn’t be able to put things together without your help! I hope to have the “Scott Mosquito Abatement Program” up and running soon.
cheers,
gary
I talked to Ken Lack and he has made adapter sleeves to slip into the big taper of a sprocket and convert it to a small one. He is sending me one to forward to Gary and I will send a 1/4″ BSF bolt in case these are thin on the ground in USA. That only leaves the Chater Lee plug lead terminals and these are in a box I loaned to Rob Collet who is wiring up the four cylinder Phased Transfer bike at the moment. It’s good to help! Roger
A rare and remarkable object arrived in the mail yesterday: Christmas in May!
Wow, what an object of stellar beauty!
Special thanks to Roger and Sean Hawker for delivering such a remarkably beautiful Magneto. I can’t thank you enough!
cheers,
gary
There is nothing better than a happy customer when you have done for him no less than you would do for yourself R

Thanks for that info. I was not totally sure, however I have a hazy picture in my mind of a round headed screw with a fairly course thread. So if the thread is about 3/16″ the options are 2BA with 0.81mm pitch, 3/16 whit x 24 TPI, 3/16 BSF x 32 TPI also 3/16 BSC x 32 TPI and a few thou bigger the American 10 x 24 and 10 x 32
Any advice anyone? Maybe I should ask Sean Hawker Kind Regards Roger
