This is part of the Scott Club Abbotsholme Weekend. There is a small entry charge per person ‘on the gate’ for those not attending the whole weekend, and good facilities including an optional cooked brunch. No extra charge for jumble pitches, so please bring your unwanted spares along.
We look forward to seeing you.

I am really looking forward to the Gathering – meeting good old friends in a genuine Scott atmosphere – buying parts that I didn’t know that I needed – consuming nice beverages etc.
Is there in addition a detailed programme available yet?
Kind regards,
Carl 😀
phew…. just sent revision 24 of “The Gathering” programme to the printer, so no chance of an advance copy, Carl. It’s amazing how time consuming it is to compile a simple 12 page document, and certainly makes me appreciate the work that Eddie the Ed puts into our bi-monthly issues of Yowl. We’re working on the opening ceremony now.. AAS forging piston rings.. purple dresses for the ladies.. etc etc….. !!
Last year awards were made, but many of the trophies were retained for restoration. I understand that this work is now complete, and we have a full compliment this year. If you are lucky enough to be holding a 2011 trophy, please remember to return it.
Looking forward to seeing you over the weekend.

I hope you all have a splendid Gathering! Again I will not be able to attend but am looking forward to the pictures!
And with the easier way of posting those here there shoud be no stopping you all in doing so 😉
Cheers,
Erik
And… How was it??? A lot of boiling radiators with the hot weather?
It ran more or less according to plan, and appeared to be a success. Sadly, working in the “back office”, I missed most of it! My grateful thanks to those who helped.

Guess who’s using the loftylube system. It looks like some adjustment is required as any one who followed will testify to. On the run, 85 miles in all, many bikes showed no sign of smoke at all bare the odd puff, even after downhill runs, ??
enjoy

Thanks to all those who made this a wonderful weekend, especially Richard Tann, Eddie and Margaret Shermer and the staff at Abbotsholme School. The weather was kind to us and the 80 mile run on Saturday around the Dove Valley had spectacular scenery and interesting roads. All the Scotts seemed to appreciate being used in the manner Alfred intended.
I had not been on this event for a couple of years and realised what I had missed. The food and company over the weekend were excellent and very reasonably priced. I shall certainly be at Abbotsholme next year and would urge other members to come as well.
wonderful weekend, good weather, brilliant venue, stunning scenery, nice people and organised to go without a hitch, I shall definitely be there next year barring accidents especially as I am getting to know my Scotts better. A big thank you to all those who made it happen.
