Hello all I am a new member with a newly aquired 49 scott. All original but seems to be missing a cover that fits over the gearbox outrigger/speedo drive on the LHS
I would make one but not sure what it looks like or how it was attached, any help would be useful
cheers Clive
thats look like the baby, cheers Keith
I am just south of Selby in Nth Yorks,if you take it off to adjust chains ect take a picture,
can it be formed out of sheet Alli or has it been cast
bike seems odd without the cover
cheers again Clive
It looks like it has been cast to me. I need to strip the gearbox out over the next few weeks so if you are patient I’ll post up a couple more pics of it removed.
If I remeber correctly there is some form of flange on the reverse of the casting which is a lot thicker than you might think. A peice of tinplate might suffice but the castings are not uncommon or expensive – I think that you might find that they are available form the spares scheme. Have a word with Graham.
Congratulations on your purchase – welcome to the wonderful world of Scotting !
