Am looking for a reduction gear for my 1932 TT Replica with engine PY as Gerry Howard is not able to supply any.
The Pilgrim pump is fitted on the R/H crankcase door originally and I want to keep this arrangement rather than relocating the pump to the sprocket of the Magdyno. My pump works fine but adjustment clearly would benefit by reducing speed to ensure reliable oil supply.
Any help and offer is very appreciated. Post to UK adress possible to avoid border bureaucracy.

If you are up for making one, I have a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub I have been saving for the job. I think there may be a drawing in Technicalities.
Chris
Have you tried Alan Noakes i think Alan stills makes them contact details in the back of the Yowl magazine.
Best regards George Millar
Chris, I might try to make one when being fully retired from businiss, but not now. Technicalities is such a wealth of information. Could not find a drawing last night but will continue search and other studies.
George, email sent to Alan a minute ago.
My main hope is somebody has a reduction gear spare on the shelve for future use as most of us have the inclination to pile interesting parts.
Thank you both, Manfred
Hi Manfred,
It is possible that I may be able to help you. Please email me direct: martinheckscher@gmail.com
Martin
George, I have got a reply from Alan Noakes. Alan stopped making reduction gears some years ago.
Martin, will send email asap.
Thank you both, Manfred
I hope Martin can help you out .best regards George
Now sorted, thank you all.
Manfred
Good evening,
I have been searching thro’ forum hoping others had been “down same road” as me looking for reduction gearbox for their Pilgrim pump.
Manfred and Martin, I am hoping you both might be able to help me with my search for one, please.
Or someone might have an accurate set of drawings so that I can make one please.
This is virtually the last “piece of the puzzle” to get this rebuild completed.
Appreciate any help people can give.
Thanks, David
Hi David,
I’m afraid Manfred had my last available reduction gear. It might be worth contacting Graham Moag at the Spares Scheme – I think he has the last of Gerry Howard’s stock, though whether that includes anything complete that might work for you is another matter altogether. Good luck.
Martin
Hi Martin,
Thanks, I have sent the “usual” people and contacts emails so hopefully someone might have a complete one, a partially completed one, or a set of engineering drawings
I have several SA hubs here, and hopefully am not going to have to wing it or re-invent the wheel.
Thanks again, David
Morning all,
I have found some reduction boxes for sale but seller (a business) says that they have “issues”. Does anybody know or heard anything about these
Not comfortable naming them on an open forum.
Thanks
David
