The 66th Scott Owners Club Gathering on 5th and 6th July 2025 at Lichfield Rugby Union Football Club, Lichfield, Staffordshire.
The 2025 Scott Owners Club annual gathering will be held on 5th and 6th July at the home ground of The Lichfield Rugby Union Football Club, Tamworth Road, Lichfield, WS14 9JE. The ground is located 15 miles North East of Birmingham. As last year, we have joined forces with the Velocette Owners Club who are hosting this event and have kindly invited us to make the best use of this large venue. Like us, the VOC are holding their annual section rally. The New Imperial Owners Association have shared with the VOC on this basis for several years and will be in attendance too, as will the LE Velo Club. The VOC are delighted to include us, as another like-minded single-make club.
A ride out is organised for Saturday. The tentative arrangements include an optional stop off at the Sandfields Pumping Station near Lichfield. For those who participate there will be a guided tour of the engine house and a talk on the restoration work being carried out on the Cornish beam engine which dates from 1873. To support their restoration fund those attending will be asked to donate £6 per person for this tour.
Their main event is on Sunday, concours, prize giving etc. The Scott Gathering will follow our usual lines, with a few exciting extras being formulated at the moment by the SOC committee.
All are welcome, whether Club members or not. The hosts will charge an entry fee of £3 per head on the gate on Sunday only. The site is open early on Saturday and Sunday. There is ample hard standing car and trailer parking by the main entrance, and more on grass at the rear of the site where the SOC “waggon train” gather for the weekend. Look out for the flags.
There will be a VOC auto jumble on Sunday with formal pitches but SOC visitors are welcome to sell their unwanted items in an informal and free “boot sale” on our part of the field. Please bring along all you can muster.
The VOC are very keen to emphasize there are no fixed rules for the SOC, we can do anything we wish, within reason and the spirit of the event. The only restriction is that we MUST keep people, animals, vehicles, camper vans etc. off the FIRST rugby pitch which is just inside the main entrance.
There is no specific site security, it is up to those attending to keep their bikes and possessions safe. Keep in mind this event is open to all, including the general public. Make sure your parked vehicles are locked when you leave them.
Our members who have camping facilities can arrive on Friday afternoon and stay ’til Monday morning if it suits them. Informal camping is allowed on the site and the hosts will charge £10 a tent and £20 a camper van for the whole weekend irrespective of the time stayed and number of occupants. The toilet and wash room facilities of the rugby club will be available for use during the event. This is not a formal camp site so there are no electrical hook-ups etc.
The arrangements for using the other Rugby Club facilities are possible and the club house should available to those attending to buy alcoholic, soft drinks and possibly food. There is an excellent pub adjoining the rugby ground, The Horse and Jockey, serving food and drink. There are hotels an other pubs nearby.
If you have any questions, ideas or helpful suggestions, please contact Richard Tann, details inside front cover of Yowl. Please make every effort to attend this brilliant event, let’s make it another enjoyable gathering of friends with (or without) their cherished Scott and Silk motorcycles.

See you on Sunday morning!
