Held at the home ground of The Lichfield Rugby Union Football Club, Tamworth Road, Lichfield, WS14 9JE. The venue is located fifteen miles north east of Birmingham. As per the last couple of years we have joined forces with the Velocette Owners’ Club who are our hosts for the event, and they have again kindly invited us along to make best use of this large arena. The New Imperial Owners’ Association and LE Velo owners have been invited too.
An optional ride out to view the Victorian water pumping beam engines at Claymills is planned for the Saturday, with other vintage items of interest on display. We hope light refreshments will be available if volunteers can be found to open their cafe. A voluntary donation of £5 per head to help fund restoration work is suggested. Our main Gathering (concours, prize giving, SOC Regalia sales etc) will be held on Sunday. Scott suppliers have been invited and Kev Bayliss will be bringing a large collection of spares. We will hold our own free-to-enter “boot sale” for your unwanted spares, tools and useful items. Please bring all you can muster!
All are welcome, whether club members or not. The hosts charge an entry fee on the gate of £3 per head on Sunday only. The site will be open early on both Saturday and Sunday, there is ample hard standing and/or grass area for car, van and trailer parking. Adjacent level parking is available for those with mobility problems. SOC members, friends and family who have camping facilities can stay from Friday afternoon until Monday morning, if it suits them. Informal camping is allowed and the hosts charge £10 per tent and £20 per campervan, irrespective of the time stayed and number of occupants. We can use the Rugby Club’s toilets and washroom areas, but there are no electrical hook-up nor other camping facilities. Please bear in mind that there is no specific site security and the grounds are open to the general public – bring bike locks and chains if you intend to leave your motorcycle overnight, and lock up your vehicles when you leave them.
