Glyn, thanks for taking the time to reply.  I have drained the synthetic modern 2 stroke out and am now using 40 grade mineral oil as advised by Roger in his info notes way back. I have also fettled the spring loaded plungers which stop the adjuster from undoing. These were preventing them from going in far enough. As a result I noq have spit spit dribble 5 to 1. 🤣

I just need some decent cork clutch plates to finally get her on the road for the West Kent Rally. Did I read somewhere that there is a Japanese bike with the same footprint clutch plates? 😳
