Hi Roger, I remember Arbour Motors very well although not employed by them it was practically my second home, I was quite friendly with Owen Greenwood and was allowed to see his ” mini” before it was unveiled to so much controversy in the sidecar fraternity. Maurice Cann’s garage was another favourite spot, but that was a bit upmarket, He did give me my first racing leather jacket though !!!
The place on Groby Rd is an unknown to me though. my bikes were all bought at the auction place on Humberstone Rd/Gate. My first being a 1927 A.K.D. 175cc ohv !!!
I will write about all this for Yowl one day when I have finished renovating this place.
