Hello Mike

I fitted decompression valves to my 30 flyer, but unfortunatly the valve seats were pocketed and I found them impossible to seal. Spewing out oil all over the place, I have now sealed them off with copper penny blanks, but the valves are still there. See one of my previous entries ‘ sealing off half commpression valves’.

I have asked Erik to attach a diagramme which I have sent to him. It explains the idea to which they were intended.

Ken Lack reproduced the insulator/contact piece, decompression arm and the parachute. I would contact him to see if he still has the parts you need. The bottom spring has to be stronger than the top one to bring the decompression arm back into its resting place.

If I can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards Stephen
