The cut-outs in the big end bushes, race plates and big end screws are for a lock washer. Only the race plate cut-outs and big end bush cut outs have to be aligned to allow the tabs on the lock washers to engage in them. The big end screw should be done up tight and tab washer edge folded against the flats on the screw.
