Yes it is a front stand and it was a standard fitting both pre and post war Flying Squirrels. It was fitted to 1929 bikes but I, can’t confirm that it was fitted to 1928 3 speed. It pivots on two top hat bushes and it fits between the engine and the frame on the front engine bolt.
