Hi Roy,

Congratulations for chhoosing an extremey interesting motorbike.

A good anti-freeze is recommended both for summer and winter. Because of the different metals used in the cooling system – cast iron, aluminium and brass, there is a lot of electrogalvanic activity if only tap water is used. With antifreeze a lot of corrosion, especially in the cylinder top can be avoided or at least reduced.

There are many anti-freeze liquids on the market, and some of them are definitely better than others. The best in my opinion is sold by Toyota for their own brand of motorcars. It has the added attraction of having a purple color – very suitable for a Scott. It is usually available through Toyota service shops. I use a mixture of 30% antifreeze and 70% water.

Kind regards 😀 😀
