Well, I’ve discovered where the water was coming from – the drain plug was glued in with some sort of sealant. The thread in the drain hole is probably totally shot (or the bung is the wrong size!). Sigh…
Ah well, I guess it will have to stay dry until the engine gets dismantled. Still, better to find these problems now rather than on the road!
