Some years ago (by mistake) a batch of right hand side exausts were made ,fitted with narrow (shortstroke)ports,3/4″wide. If fitted toa long stroke engine(1″wide port) the gasket will only have aVERY narrow edge to seat on,and will soon be blown out. The gas flow will also be restricted.
Bikes fitted with short stroke engines(pre. 30) usually have left hand exausts, as the footbrake is on the righthand side ,in the way. These pipes are therefore non standard for any normal production Scott. Hope this helps! Geoff Case.
