Hi Chris,
The original pipes were made so as to avoid indents to miss the downtubes, but pipes supplied for donkey’s years have been “not quite right”, and need the indents to clear the frame. The other problem with these replacement pipes is that the short pipe from the left-hand cylinder enters the main sweep at almost 90 degrees, which upsets the gas flow from the R/H cylinder.
If you borrow the jig that I mentioned you will see what I mean.
I have new inverted levers for 1″ bars at £88 per pair.
