Hmmm now you have me thinking! My dad bought the bike when it was 8 years old and he says it definately had chrome wheels with a thick red line in the centre exactly as it shows in the 1949 pic in gallery 6. Although when you look closely at the pics it looks as though it has a pinstripe either side. I suppose after painting the wheels black some 30 odd years ago he could have remembered it being illuminous green too 🙄
