For information, I’ve just noticed in the “Bits & Bobs” section of this website that there is a copy of a brochure produced by the factory giving details of a kit of parts to “modernise your Scott”. This includes the outrigger driven speedometer drive used on post war Scotts and includes the following information:- “only suitable for Smith’s speedometer heads, types S491/1/L for 21 tooth final drive sprocket and S433/1/L or M115 for 19 tooth final drive sprocket”. Incidentally, the whole kit which included Dowty forks, new front wheel, speedo drive & front mudguard cost £38 ten shillings!
