Yep, and as so many companies supply cables which seem to prove the motto of “near enough is good enough” it seems essential to be able to “adjust” lengths. Nothing worse than a nice resto where the cable adjusters are wound right out from the start, or where cables are pulling tight or flapping in the wind.
Sometimes jumbles have bunches of unidentified cables for a tenner or whatever, and that’s a great way to pick up Imperial sizes and BSCY adjusters.
