The gearbox retaining threads are indeed 3/8″BSF. Fitting helicoil inserts is not an option as there is not enough material around the holes. I am having two new bolts made as the old ones are worn, this should take some of the slack out of the fitting.
Next….. the sleeve gear seal bush protudes by 4.5mm this seems quite a lot … and how can it (the bush) be removed?
