I had known the place since the early 1980s, as “The Haven”, then after a change of ownership, “The Haven in the Vale”. Apart from all the SOC meetings and Christmas meals, I started and finished my ‘Vale of Belvoir Runs’ there, organised some SOC AGMs there, had my son’s and daughter’s 18th birthday parties there, our Silver Wedding, and Management’s 60th birthday parties; and so I’ve spent a LOT of money there!! I’m very sorry that it now seems to be gone as a pub, and hotel.
