Tony, I carried out the procedure you described and the problem is cured, I now have it accurately timed at full advance. This procedure has proved more accurate than trying to measure the piston distance in the restricted area under the radiator plus the mark is there for future reference so thank you.
I have one more job to do and that’s replace the bearing in the final drive outrigger, I may be posting again!
