Thanks for the input. Loosening the cylinder bolts and slightly tilting the cylinder back allows the head to be removed easily. I can see that the clearance between the left downtube and cylinder head is less than the right by a small amount, this is the interference side. The head hits the frame at the boss for the cylinder head stud so a change of head would not fix the problem. The Engine fits well, the mounting bolts do not have to be forced, so I think the frame is OK, I guess it’s just another idiosyncrasy of this model. Once again thanks for the help
