I suppose its a case of problem solving and then finding a suitable solution. So the silicone is applied directly to the machined faces, Do you use the very flexible type and how much. Do you look at the tolerance of the faces and apply the amount accordingly,
Incidentally I was interested in the machining operations you described, do you cast crankcases ?
