OK Mike. No, there is no connection with Richard Blackburn’s project at all. I believe that he encountered problems with the person who has a casting pattern/tooling, and then decided to go it alone, but I have heard nothing since. Perhaps Richard would like to comment as I certainly don’t want to tread on his toes, but I was desperate for a drum, had no response from requests on this website, adverts in Yowl, and then when I tried an advert in the VMCC Journal I was contacted by a chap who has made them before, offering to make another batch. I just hope that it all works out OK as I don’t want to pay 295 Euros for one from the Brough Superior spares guy in Austria !
