Thank you Stan for that information.
It seems like it would be worth my while fitting a solid state regulator, it would get around the issue of the resistor and give me more reliable
charging of the battery, which would be important for coil ignition.
There are a few different ones on the market at the moment, is any one of them better than the others, can anyone recommend a particular make ?
