In a lot of used bits I acquired a new ‘Made in India’ Norton girder, when the previous owner tried to install it the part that attaches the spring to the top yoke snapped, leaving the tapered part in the to yoke and the spring and what was left of the attachment part flopping in the breeze. The casting was very porous and it appears those forks are only sold as an assembly with no spares support. But, i do remember when India was known as the home of the 1000 mile sprocket.
