Hi
I’ve just had another look on the ENFIELDcounty-Ebay site, and find that they now have repro’ Norton girder forks at £300 plus £70 p&p, the type with side check-springs, as fitted to the 16H and various other models. Nothing to do with Scotts, but I thought this could be of interest to those of you with a mixed stable of vintage/classic bikes.
After looking at a group of 9 close photos (enlargeable), I am quite impressed, BUT this is a safety critical component and I would be a bit worried about the metallurgy/steel/iron casting quality. However, with genuine old forks now being around for up to 75 years, and having had an unknown number of bumps and crashes, repairs, unseen internal corrosion, etc., the new ones could well be a safer bet !!
