Hi Derek, The ‘home-made’ one on your bike is there because you have an anticlockwise magneto, driven off the clutch drum, and a standard mag platform won’t do the job if fitted back to front. Unless of course you now have a mag drive sprocket on the flywheel, and can fit a clockwise mag ? If you have done that I can supply a mag platform, AND, I would very gladly relieve you of your A/C magneto in exchange for a recently rebuilt C/W BTH mag !!!
