Hi Brian,
I still have a 3,5″ disk slot in my Windows XP machine at home. I presume that there still are several such machines around. I also presume that your 3,5″ floppy is the 2.0 Mb version in a hard plastic case. If it is a really floppy-floppy variety, it will be a lot more difficult.
