I assumed (probably wrongly) that the OP was talking about the “electronic magnetos” current on offer rather than generic electronic ignition systems, but if it is some conversion to the generic (Piranha, Boyer, Electrex et al) electronic system,then again, I think I’d prefer a mag and not rely on a fully charged battery that these systems rely on.
Granted, the old mag does have wearing/rotating and adjustable maintenance components, but given the mileage of our old bikes that’s really not a problem. In fact, it becomes a part of the pleasure of old bike ownership, along with topping up the rad and checking oils and chains tension, etc etc.
I’d buy another Honda otherwise. 🙂
