Maybe modern insulation on the secondary HT winding helps, were they originally coated with shellac ? probably synthetic now hopefully it doesn’t break down so easily, and keeps any moisture out. Does the cycle of discharge/heat generation cause the copper to become brittle and subject to fracture etc.( which as Brian points out is 4 times that of a 4 stroke single) better stop NOW !! as I’m starting to sound a bit NERDY 😳
