As my ‘car operated’ roller starter is simply too big to fit permanently into my small garage and too good to mess about with, I have decided to buy a small battery operated unit.
If anyone is interested in mine, before I put it on Ebay, let me know.
The unit has two 2m long rollers, which are bolted into two very robust brackets (for transportation, it can be dismantled easily into four pieces and re-bolted together when required for use) ; dismantled, it fitted easily into the boot of my wife’s Toyota Yaris.
The unit is operated by driving the rear drive wheel of your car/van onto it ; the previous owner used it to start his motorcross bikes at races.
It also has a sprocket on one roller (and facility for a belt on the other) for operation by an electric motor if required.
Photographs upon request.
