Hello again.
Since my previous posting I’ve seen some Ford Dark Aubergine paint en-masse (on an RS2000 ! ) and must admit that it does look very dark, sort of ripe Victoria Plum colour. I have also noted that Halfords do a petrol proof clear lacquer for £5-49 a can, which could be used to protect an acrylic colour.
