Hi Chris. My first try would be to polish it with silicone type furniture polish to try and seal it. I suppose one of those “Back to black” car dashboard spray polishes might also work.

I am interested in your seat. You mention “Dunlop Type” which would suggest a modern replica. The small Dunlop Drilastic on my racer has split badly after many years rigourous duty. I am looking for a replacement. Can you tell me if you bought yours recently, where from and is it one of those replica saddles with a rubber top without internal reinforcement, but with a fibre glass pan underneath. I am hoping to find something more like the original that is more complient than with a solid saddle pan.
