Many thanks for the offer of help and the suggestion of where the solution could be found. The adage that ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’ was agin reinforced by the entries on the subject already on the Forum. I have now sorted the forks out, the mistake I had made was to put the bottom spindles into the friction damper from the wrong direction – embarrasing.
