In 1927 when buying a new three speed super from the factory, it was possible to specify, for the princely sum of £1-10-00 extra, that your machine be fitted with a gate change gear lever instead of the usual wobbly walking stick gear lever.
How was the gate change attached to the single down tube? Was it clamped or was the gate bolted to a bracket brazed to the down tube?
Does anyone have any clear pictures or better still, any parts?
