VMCC FESTIVAL OF 1000 BIKES 14/15th JULY AT MALLORY PARK

I shall again be organising the Scott Club stand and display at this event. We have reserved a space in the Avenue of Clubs for the Scott Owners’ Club. I would hope to have a representative selection of Scotts from Veteran to Birmingham as well as a Silk. Would members wishing to display their bikes contact me, my address and phone number is in Yowl. The success of the stand will depend on members support so please make an effort to attend. I shall be given free weekend passes for exhibitors. There will also be dedicated parking areas for those spectators who turn up on the day.

Entries for the track sessions close on 1st June and I expect they will be popular so book early. There will be other attractions over the weekend such as a pre 65 Trial, Grass Track and Sprint demonstrations as well as an Autojumble and a Racing Parade. There will be camping available and bars and entertainment on the Saturday evening.

One does not have to be a VMCC member to participate and further information is on the dedicated website http://www.vmcc.net.

Last year the Scott stand generated a lot of interest amongst the public and we were able to welcome many club members. I look forward to doing so again. I would encourage owners to enter a track session. You can ride at your own speed and they do not take it out of the bike any more than you wish. I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions last year and will be riding again. You also get the benefit of getting 2 passes for the whole weekend’s events if you enter.

I am looking for a selection of Scotts and Silks for this event. The Scott stand is 30Ft x 20Ft in the Avenue of Clubs so there is plenty of space. I have a total of 14 free wekend passes for those who wish to display their bikes. It is not a problem if you can only come for one day. I plan to have a caravan on the stand to act as a clubroom and provide some refreshment. I also would like some helpers.

Last year’s event was a great success with Scotts being ridden in the track sessions and the stand attracted many visitors. There will be many other attractions at Mallory as welll as some exceptional racing bikes being demonstrated.

There are 15 Scotts entered for the Track sessions. Well done to these members and I look forward to seeing them. I am still short of volunteers and bikes for the Scott stand. I now have the passes in my possession so please contact me asap.

Just an idea Ian, but with 15 entries for the track you should not be short of Scott for yous display! Just arrange for those bike to be on the stand.

I wish I could be there but the 14th is the first birthday of my daughter and for some reason that was important enough not to go to the UK

I hope to see as many members as possible this weekend at Mallory. I hope the weather will be ok. Saturday will be the best day for the weather but Sunday perhaps the most interesting.

Offers of help on either day will be most appreciated.
