The Austin Roadrunners held their 10th annual British and European Vintage Motorcycle Show on Sunday 6th June. I rode my 27 Flyer up there and took best pre ’65 and Best in Show!
This is a fairly casual event with spectator voting. There were about 60 entries in total, but only 5 in the pre ’65 class, including 2 Vincents, an Ariel Square 4, a Sunbeam and my Flyer.
There were hundreds of execelent spectator bikes, including a concours early Brough SS80 riden in by Herb Harris. Mr. Harris has one of the world’s finest collections of Vincents, including the ‘Rollie Free’ Black Shadow that did 150 at Bonneville.
Tempratures were in the upper 90’s on the way home. I did spit some water on the longer uphills, but I made it home fine. I will post a few photos shortly.
