hi,purchased non-running 1950 scott,one of the problems I have is it only has second gear, plus a neutral either side of it,when I disconnect at operating arm all gears select easily,i seem to remember from my last scott[55years ago!]the adjustment is to put it in second,line up the pawls central,then adjust balljoints to hole in lever?unfortunatly I cannot get enough adjustment[balljoints still needs to be shorter] any suggestions please?
