Starting price £3,700. Auction ends March 22, 4pm. This bike (BCN 315) was a show model in the 1949 London Motorcycle Show. A friend who owned it some time ago has a photo to prove it!.
Seems strange why is it fitted with a rear stand and no visible means to pull it onto it. It should have a roll on centre stand.

As the new ecstatic owner of this machine, has anybody seen this photograph? I’d love to see a copy. I was lucky enough to find a copy of the 1950 Scott brochure which features a picture of this machine but I wasn’t aware that it had been involved in the 1949 LMS too.
Of more importance though is this weeks MoT. I’m sure it’ll sail through. Fingers crossed.
Good luck, Dean. Every time I just got my mot. The tester always seems more interested in discussing the fact that Alfred beat Yamaha to water cooling by 60 or 70 years than nit-picking! 🙂

I’m sure it will be fine, I took my C15 for MOT today, one advisory on a slightly varying rear brake force (I knew – the drum has a slight run-out that I’ve not got round to fixing yet) and the usual talk about classics etc with the tester.
On the subject of the motor show pictures the SOC has a photo archive, if there are any copies still around I’m sure they would know about them. Details in Yowl I think.
Cheers,
Rich
Congratulations on your purchase Dean and good luck with the MOT.
Ian Parsons is the Club registrar and he will be able to tell you some of the history of your bike, assuming that it is on the register, which appears most likely. Ian is best contacted by email.
Andrew Marfell is the club Archivist and has many pictures whih he can copy and send to you – he is not on email but his address is in Yowl.
Dave Bushell is Club libraraian and might also have some details of the bike – he is also contactable by email.
Keep us informed of progress with the MOT and let us know if you need any more help – or to be put in touch with the above.

Thank you for the info. I know that the bike has been on the register, and is now once again on the register. I will most certainly use the contacts that have been suggested. MoT set for Friday morning. I’m sure there’ll be no great problems, if any.
Cheers, Dean
MoT passed, and what a beautiful day to have taken it too.
Well done Dean…Any chance of some pics???…Adrian 😀
This may not work but here’s a go at uploading a pic.

Here’s another.

But I’m afraid that this one was taken before I’d given it a wipe over with a cloth.
