Has anyone out there got a usable 596 cylinder head they are willing to sell? Those much wiser than me have advised that my current head is only fit for a door stop and I would really like to get my bike back on the road for Spring. I know I can get a new one from Roger Moss but I’d rather go the original route if at all possible.

Hi Keith,
there is a very expensive head on EBay; item number: 401475217143.
The add does not say whether its 500 or 600cc.

Hi Keith, there is also a cylinder barrel on Fleabay. It looks a bit iffy as it has had a seizure, but the vendor says that the bores are OK… There are also no studs, and no view of the top, so I don’t know if they have been successfully unscrewed, or just sawn off flush ! Item No 292408179337.

Blimy, that piston was well seized 😆 It is good to know that parts are still appearing! I might be naive but I’m guessing barrels are always salvageable by re-sleeving? Certainly, for more modern engines (like my RG) its becoming an economic fix in the event of a major blow up as NOS barrel supply is starting to dry up.
