Hi, Due to lack of viewings and response to a posting elsewhere on this website, I am posting this message in the open Forum in desperation ! Has anyone got a spare pair of brake shoes for the 7″ Webb front brake used on nearly all Flyers, TT Reps, Sprint Specials, etc., from about 1927 through to the mid-1930’s ? I thought that I had put mine away carefully in a box with the rest of the brake parts a couple of years ago, but there again I might have sent them off for relining…. I just can’t remember! In any event they have disappeared, and I am desperate for a replacement pair. The same hub and basic brake assembly was used by Velocette and many other British bike makers, and I’m sure that the cast alloy shoes used by Velocette would fit my brake instead of the fabricated steel shoes used by Scott. SO….. Steel or alloy, either will do me. If preferred to cash I have lots of useful bits and pieces available as swaps.
My contact details are listed in Yowl under ‘Eastern Section Information’, or send me a PM. HELP PLEASE.
