Advance/Retard Cable & Mag. Chain Cover

Reference my 1948 Flying Squirrell: I need to replace the advance/retard cable. The existing brass nipple takes the form of a barrel nipple with a ‘tongue’ which engages with a groove in the plunger – Are these nipples available or do I use a normal barrel nipple? Also how is the alloy magneto chain cover which came with a box of bits and appears to have been fitted to a bike at some time secured to the magneto platform?

The Right hand cover normally mounts on a stud which goes through the frame into the rear R/H mounting of the platform and is held in place with a domed nut, yes just a single mounting point

Just checked my flyer, the advance cable is fitted with a standard nipple, the magneto cover is attached by a double headed bolt, one end secures the rear mag platform, the other the cover:
