Arthur’s funeral was, not surprisingly, extremely well attended, with about 90 filling the chapel at Lancaster crematorium on a fine sunny Autumn day. The Order of Service carried a superb action colour photo of Arthur out Scotting, whilst a most touching eulogy was given by his close friend Alan Johnson, detailing Arthur’s career in very senior positions in the motor industry, as well as his personal side and pleasant nature.
Afterwards at the Heaves Hotel, Levens the Reed Scott stood waiting, courtesey of Robert Lemon, who is custodian on behalf of the VMCC.
A fine send off for one of life’s gentlemen.
